Does the Postmark count as an 'on-time' payment?

Yes. Check with the post office as to when and how postmarks are applied to your envelope. 

Did you know?

Prior to 1741, Upper Hanover was a part of Hanover Township, along with what is now Douglass, Pottsgrove, and New Hanover Townships, and Pottstown.  At the time, Upper Hanover contained the villages of Palm, Kleinville, and Hillegassville, in addition to the Buroughs of East Greenville, Pennsburg, and Red Hill. 

How can I get a receipt for my paid taxes?

Just call the tax office at 215-679-8313 and request a printed receipt. 

What is an interim bill?

Interim bills are issued by the County, Township and School District when there has been a change in the assessed value of a property (i.e. addition, garage etc...). 

What is a Per Capita Tax?

It is a census tax, levied on all residents 18 years of age or older.  An exemption form is available at the tax office for those who make less than $10,000 a year 

Can I pay by credit card?

Yes, simply call 1-800-2PAYTAX and use jurisdiction code 4854 or online at www.officialpayments.com.  You will need the Parcel number (5700...) your credit card information and the amount of tax to be paid.  A nominal fee of 3% is calculated and charged for this convenient service.
